Questions About Wells and Pumps Around Globe and Gila County

These are the questions well owners and ranchers around Globe ask us most: what to check before you call, how pricing works, solar pumps, windmills and how to reach us when we are out of cell range. If yours is not here, call and we will answer it.

(928) 961-6641

What should I check before I call about no water?
Check the breaker for the well and the pressure gauge on the tank. A tripped breaker or a gauge reading zero tells us a lot on the phone. Do not open the control box or the pressure switch cover, because those carry live power. Then call or text (928) 961-6641 with what you found.
What happens if I call and nobody answers?
Leave a message. Much of our work is out where there is no cell service, so calls go to voicemail. Leave a message, send a text to (928) 961-6641 or use the form, and we get back to you. Our listed hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
How does pricing work on a well pump job?
You get a quote before any work begins. Depth is the big one, along with the size of pump and motor the well needs. Drop pipe, wire and how close a truck can get to the wellhead all count too. Call or text (928) 961-6641 for a quote.
What areas do you work in?
We are based in Globe and work about 75 miles out, across Gila County and the country around it. That takes in Miami, Tonto Basin, Roosevelt, San Carlos, Whiteriver, Winkelman, Hayden, Kearny and Mammoth, and sometimes up to Payson. Call and ask about your spot.
Do you drill wells?
We are not taking well drilling jobs at this time. Our work is everything after the well is drilled: pumps, pressure tanks, storage tanks, solar pump systems, windmills and cleaning out existing wells. A new well or a deeper well is drilling work, and you would need a well driller for that.
Do you work on solar well pumps and windmills?
Yes. We install and repair solar powered well pump systems for ranches, stock wells and off grid homes, including deep wells. We also service water pumping windmills: the gearbox oil change, new leathers and check valves, sucker rod and drop pipe, and tower work. See windmill repair for what that involves.
How long does a well pump last?
It depends on the well, the water and how hard the pump works. National cost guides put a well pump at 8 to 15 years with regular upkeep. The well itself usually outlasts the pump in it. Sand is the usual killer, and a pump that starts and stops constantly does not last as long.
Can you find out how deep my well is?
Often, yes. The Arizona Department of Water Resources keeps a public well registry, and most registered wells carry a number that starts with 55. The driller's log shows how the well was built and what it drilled through. Send us that number or your old paperwork and we will pull the record. Rules can differ on reservation land.
